No, not unless you want to. If you're unsure of what size or your horse is in between sizes, I can usually recommend what size for you to try based off of your horse's breeding, height, and or a picture. If your horse needs a custom size like a pony sized nose but a cob size everywhere else (like my 11.2hh mule...) That is always an option as well!
Soft! I love the rope I use for my halters because of how soft and durable it is. 1/4" Double Braid Nylon, Manufactured from UV stabilized nylon yarn. Made right here in Ontario Canada. I know of a lot of people who would say they prefer a stiff rope halter for training purposes specifically, but I dont make and advertise my halters as a training aid.. I make them so people can have a fun, beautiful, and creative custom halter for their equine partner. They make a great addition for photo shoots, parades, in between classes at shows, underneath western headstalls for a fancy noseband/tie down, every day use, etc.
As much as I'd like that to be an option, No, Not necessarily..I have way to many beads to supply photos of each individually for my customers to choose from so I typically get a preference from my customer on what colors, shapes, etc that they would like, as specific as they can be. And then when the item is ready to have beads attached I lay out about 10-15 different beading options with different layouts and beads based off of their preference, which they then can pick from, get creative and make suggestions apon, or request more sample photos or other color options. I find this the easiest way since I'm used to laying the beads out and can usually envision layouts relatively easily. I've had friends come over to look at my beads and pick their beads in person and it has taken them 2-3hrs before they had made a decision and they always say the same thing "I dont know how you can pick options so easily, this is so hard"!
My halters can be made with or without a throat snap/clip, I myself prefer with and a lot of my customers do as well. The snap makes it so that you dont have to untie and retie the halter everytime you put it on or off your horse, instead you can just unclip it and slip the halter off over the ears like a nylon or leather halter. Also adds a safety feature that if your horse pulls back or gets stuck and pulls the halter knot too tight you can still remove it without struggling with a knot that's now too tight.
I have and could, but I really don't recommend it. The Fiador knot (large knot under the chin) doesn't stay together under the pressure of a set of reins pulling from above it on the rings, unless you have a lead attached to the loops under the chin to keep the loops from being pulled up into the knot itself. This happens due to the soft rope I use for my halters, typically the rope halters you'd see with rings to make it a sidepull are made of a stiffer rope. My recommendation instead would be to try one of my Bitless Trail Halters or a Bitless Attachment which both have a curb strap instead of a fiador knot. If a side pull halter is ordered I put a sliding keeper knot above the fiador knot to help keep it from loosening under pressure.
Yes! I honestly don't know how many is too many probably more than 100 tho as it just depends on how many single hairs will fit in one of the capsules.
I don't recommend it unless you are very patient and creative! It's not an easy task, I'm good at it now that I've done hundreds of them but know it's not as easy as cutting the hair and putting it all in through the cap... The hole is only about the size of a toothpick wide so you have to put only about 10hairs in at a time and if you cut the hair too short you cant usually easily empty the capsule, once the hair is in it's in. You also have to make sure you wash the hair thoroughly before hand and let it dry because if there is any dirt on the hair the glass capsule pretty much magnifies it... I've had times where I had to wash hair 3 or 4 times before I got all the dirt off, sometimes it looks clean and then you find 1 hair that's dirty inside the capsule and have to try to fish it out.
No, they just take too much paracord and the buckles that are typically used for paracord reins are hard to keep on hand. I do make rope reins tho in any diameter and length with beta strap ends and snaps.
As for warranty I can't give any type of warranty on the ring blanks themselves as I don't make the materials that the rings are I only braid the hair into them. That being said I try my best to be reasonable and to keep my clients happy so if anything were to go wrong with the ring or the hair Inlay I try my best to come to a compromise to fix or replace the item in question. This obtains to all my items not just my rings. I try to be as reasonable as possible as things do happen and things do break..
If you're unsure how to measure your finger for a ring I can provide a chart that shows you how to meaure and what size the measurement comes to.
Since starting to make rings I've noticed a common occurrence that people's middle finger ends up being the same size as their shoe size and the ring finger is .5-1 size smaller. Online they say it's a myth but so far it's been quite accurate for all my customers. So I wouldn't solemnly rely on this method to tell but it may give you an idea.
For reference, My sizing Info:
Ring Finger- Size 7
Middle Finger- Size 8
Shoe- Size 8
(Of course this also changes depending on what hand you measure for as one hands fingers are usually a tiny bit bigger than the other)
I have available either a glossy finish or Natural Tung Oil for indoor or outdoor use. Tung oil is also food safe for Cutting/Serving Boards!
